Our CrossFit community, located in the Phoenix area, is for ALL fitness levels from the most advanced athlete to the most novice person and everyone in between. Improving quality of life is something that everyone is striving for, and our programming is designed to assist our members in doing just that, by improving their fitness.
CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life. They move the largest loads the longest distances, so they are ideal for maximizing the amount of work done in the shortest time. Intensity is essential for results and is measurable as work divided by time—or power. The more work you do in less time, or the higher the power output, the more intense the effort. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness. (Courtesy of CrossFit Inc)
OUR COACHES
Chris Cannon
Head Coach
10 years ago I was going to a "Globo Gym" and really was not satisfied or committed to any kind of fitness. I was in the corporate world working 40-90 hours a week in a sales position. A friend of mine from college told me about this gym that held group classes, the energy was awesome and it combined weights and cardio in a single 1 hour session. I was sick of coming up with my own workouts after a long day and needed to find the energy to get back to my former athletic "glory". CrossFit provided a way for me to push my limits in an environment that fostered hardwork and comeradere in a fun and competitive way.
Eventually I started coaching because I found that I wanted others to realize that there is an athlete in all of us. Brining it out just takes someone to recognize it and help it along. My best day at the gym is celebrating with those who thought they couldn't and found out they could! See you at Papago CrossFit.

Natasha Dahlberg
I am a Phoenix native, who enjoys hiking, running, CrossFit, and yoga. I am a CrossFit L1 trainer, as well as a registered Yoga teacher (RYT200). Outside of the gym, I am a middle school math teacher and cat mom of 3. I have ran 4 marathons, countless half marathons, and strive to better myself in CrossFit and yoga every single day. My life completely changed for the better when I joined the Papago CrossFit community. Prior to CrossFit you would find me in hot yoga, boxing, or just running by myself; I had fun, don’t get me wrong, but something was missing. I didn’t have the family or style of fitness that I do now. I love the constant variation in the workouts, weight loads, volume/reps, and skills to practice; plus, we offer yoga, which is an amazing added bonus. The workouts at our gym truly keep you on your toes, and it is exhilarating knowing that you will never run out of things to work on or PRs to reach. It would be an honor to coach you on the gym floor, or guide you through a flow on your mat. I also love talking about health; so you might pick up some lifestyle tips about hydration, sleep, macronutrients, micronutrients, etc., along the way. Namaste, hope to see you soon!

Grant Garlock
Grant is originally from Portland, Or and used to run and cycle to keep in shape. A couple years after moving to Az to pursue a Nursing degree, he decided that he needed to increase his strength and has been Crossfiting since 2013. The best part of coaching for Grant is getting to see athletes improve little by little as they practice. Cindy is his favorite workout because it is a simple mix of 3 movements that always hit the right spots and LOTS of time to burn through it!

Zara Thomas
For so long, yoga seemed unapproachable to me. It looked like it was for people who were super bendy and zen…which weren't adjectives I would have used to describe myself. Eventually I got up the nerve to join a yoga class and immediately realized that yoga is for everyone and over time I saw how yoga subtly and literally changed my life. Yoga is more than postures, being flexible and bendy; it's an opportunity to find stillness in our busy lives, to challenge ourselves mentally and physically & to truly get to know ourselves. I hope you’ll join me in class as we work together to find total health in mind, body and spirit. In each Vinyasa Flow class I strive to create an experience that is authentic, approachable, insightful and fun, while always remembering that yoga is more than just a physical practice, but an opportunity to get to know ourselves in every way.
